We reserve the right to disable comments on the entire blog when deemed necessary. And when comments are enabled, each one will be moderated before being posted.

We live by the statement, “if you don’t have anything nice to say then say don’t say anything at all” and we expect all our commentators to live by the same. We reserve the right to deem all comments necessary for the blog post and will delete those that are not. Those comments that will not be tolerated include but are not limited to:

  • obscene, indecent, or profane language;

The makers of the Vintage Mountain Homestead blog are actually human and from time to time make errors in a recipe or post. We appreciate followers who point out such errors through comments. If an error has been pointed out and fixed by the author, the comment will either be deleted or not published. This helps to not confuse other readers later.

Home Preservation Recipes

Disclaimer: Vintage Mountain Homestead provides general information for educational purposes only. No information on this website makes up legal or professional advice on any matter.

The home food preservation canning (both pressure and water bath canning) recipes come from reputable, tested, and approved sources. Vintage Mountain does not make up any food preservation canning recipes. We insist on the user having a basic knowledge and understanding of home preservation and canning to use these recipes. We do not recommend unsolicited changes to any of the canning recipes.

All canning recipe processing times stated and used for altitudes between 0-1000 feet. Please know your altitude and judge accordingly. I attach an altitude adjustment chart to each canning recipe post on this website. It is of the utmost importance that the reader understands the basics of home preservation techniques before attempting any of the recipes. Shortcuts in home food preservation can lead to unhealthy results.

Vintage Mountain Homestead does not accept any responsibility for any loss which may come from the information on this website.

Cooking Recipes (non-canning)

Disclaimer: Vintage Mountain Homestead posts family favorite recipes. They are a compilation of recipes from family and friends, cookbooks, and food bloggers. If I make and post a recipe from another source, I credit the source with a link to said source. And I would appreciate the same courtesy. Please post my recipe with “Vintage Mountain Homestead” and a link to our recipe post.

The food photos on each post are real and not strictly for an article post. Pictures are taken with a smartphone camera before mealtime and slightly edited for enhanced color or lighting. Vintage Mountain is not responsible for your food, which may look different from our photos posted.

The recipe program used on this website includes a nutritional information chart that gives information on carbs, calories, fats, etc. None of the recipes have been lab tested for nutritional accuracy.

The recipes posted on Vintage Mountain Homestead are intended for entertainment and/or informational purposes only. They are used by persons with appropriate technical skills at their own discretion and risk. We are not responsible for any kitchen messes that may happen, any misinterpreted recipes that don’t look like, taste like, have the same color, etc., shared on this blog.
