Welcome to our little vintage homestead on an acre.

We are a small family of four trying to save money and reduce our carbon footprint. We grow an array of fruits and vegetables every year while preserving our harvest by safe home canning methods, freezing, and dehydrating. Homemade cooked meals, completing home do-it-yourself home improvement and craft projects are all ways we bring our 1920's Craftsman home back to life and teach our children the meaning of hard work and reducing wasteful spending.

Please follow us while we live a more self sustainable lifestyle and learn from each other.

HOMESTEAD UPDATE: As of June, we have grown/raised a total 114 pounds of food; 83 pounds in eggs and 31 pounds in fruits and vegetables.
STAY TUNED: I am currently working on our first cookbook. It is all about dehydrating meals for backpacking. I am also starting to make vintage recipes and post them to the blog.
GARDEN UPDATE: We are now harvesting the yellow squash and zucchini, blackberries, and very soon the tomatoes.
